Hey Reader,A shorter and less robust newsletter for you this week! Why, you ask? Because I am very far behind and taking your foot off the gas is often a good thing. Also, to be transparent, I've been working on some very exciting things with a new client and haven't had as much time to write. I'd apologize, but I'm pretty stoked to have a new client on the books and hey, if you want more of me, hire me! Last week's newsletter "The Masks We Post" was very well recieved! A massive thank you to everyone who sent over thoughts, kind words and donations in response to that email. All the positive feedback led me to turn that newsletter into a blog post. You can find that HERE. If you enjoyed last week's newsletter, I'd be incredibly grateful if you'd send the blog post to someone! I also posted a TikTok about it. If you like me better in a video format, you can watch that below. please don't ever forget that social media isn't real. #socialmediatiktok #socialmediamarketing #smallcreatorsupport #gentlereminder Coming this week... I've been up on a soapbox about screen time for a few weeks and I think it's time to find a new rallying cry. This week I'm going to publish the first in a series of blogs about follower counts and social media power creep. I'm not sure how much content I'll have for this series but who knows, maybe another eBook is on the horizon. If you have any questions about these topics that you'd like to have answered in blog or video format, please send them my way! And finally... My good friend and long-time social media idol, Meredith Ulmer, has started a substack! Her first post examines the discussions around DEI through the lens of what they're leaving out, specifically maternity leave. It's not an overstatement to say I wouldn't be working in social if not for Mere and I regard her opinions higher than my own. Please take moment to give her article a read and if you love a newsletter, subscribe to her as well. -MCp.s.
Website updates took a backseat to client work this week. That means there's still time to get some feedback. So here's the structure that I've laid out for the business going forward. I'd love to hear your thoughts or if you think any of these services would be of interest to you!

Content Marketing for independent entrepreneurs done differently. Here's your first tip: You don't need to grow your following.
Fyreside Newsletter - 4/21/25 Hey Reader, I've been staring at this blank newsletter for (checks clock) three hours. I've typed the first sentence half-a-dozen times and I keep deleting it. I wouldn't say it's for a lack of content ideas; I certainly have plenty of those. No, my issue today is motivation, and I think that's worth talking about. Let's start with a video Matt | Bahnfyre PR š„ You cannot do it all. You cannot do it all. You cannot do it all. . . . . #selfemployed...
Fyreside Newsletter - 4/14/25 Hey Reader, I hope the day before Tax Day is finding you as well as it can possibly find you. What an incredibly unnecessary source of stress we all suffer through so Intuit (et. al) can get their bag. Here's a 22-minute podcast about that. ANYWAY, let's talk about comments. In last week's newsletter, I put forth this idea: Comments are the only type of engagement worth caring about. Then I planted my flag and walked away without giving you any actionable...
Fyreside Newsletter - 4/7/25 Hey Reader, Last week, I talked about how most marketing advice is bullshit. This week, I'm going to dig into that further by discussing "engagement." More importantly, I'm going to give you a definitive answer to the question: "What kind of engagement should I track/measure/care about?" I won't even bury the lede, it's comments. What is engagement? I think most people are familiar with the word "engagement," but if I asked you what constitutes "engagement," would...
