One Year of Bahnfyre PR - Fyreside Newsletter - 11/3/25

Fyreside Newsletter - 11/3/25

Hey Reader,

Thank you. If you're reading this newsletter, you have been an integral part of the first year of Bahnfyre PR. I am forever grateful and, from the bottom of my blackened, anxiety-ridden heart, thank you.

Starting a business has been the second most humbling experience of my life. First place is steadily held by a time in 9th grade when I asked a dancer named Marissa if she wanted to be my girlfriend. She said no. I did not expect that.

Speaking of things I didn't expect...

I am not where I thought I would be at the end of year one. Quite frankly, I expected to exceed the salary that I left behind when I quit my last job. I expected to have a steady flow of inbound leads and a strong base of existing clients. I expected to have over 1000 followers on TikTok. I expected to be happier, less stressed and more motivated than I was in the fall of 2024.

LOL.

The reality after one year is far from what I expected, but that isn't to say it's bad. I'm actually only about $5k short of what I had made in October of 2024. The flow of inbound leads is far from steady, but it's not nonexistent, and I've adored the clients I've worked with this year. I'm not over 1000 followers on TikTok, but I'm more than a third of the way there and I'm regularly receiving more views than I have followers. And, I'll concede, I'm infinitely more stressed than I was a year ago, but I'm also infinitely more satisfied.

Why I'm telling you

This is how you foster brand loyalty. Write this next thing down, it's important: constant success is boring and people do not like it. I'm sorry if I'm the first person to tell you this, but no one is following you to see you win all the time. In fact, if all you do is win, (win, win, no matter what) your audience will be way more upset when you lose. But if they've seen you lose, they'll go crazy when you win.

Your growth, your struggles, your failures, your mistakes, etc. are the things that will resonate with your audience. That's how they relate to you and, more importantly, why they'll root for you. Audiences want to feel impactful. They want to know that their support means something. The obstacles you face create a way, if only metaphorically, for your audience to help you. If you're only public with your victories, your audience won't show up to fight for you because they won't think you need them.

But I need you.

And holy shit am I grateful that you're here. If my count is right, this is the 56th edition of this newsletter that I've sent. Issue 1 was sent from my personal email to 3 people. Issue 56 is going out to more than 25x that many people and it's coming from my "official" email. I've only made it this far because of the support of my loving partner, family and friends who have propped me up along the way. You, dear subscriber, may not be part of that group, but you have been equally as impactful.

This newsletter is the heart and soul of BFPR most weeks. When work is slow and I'm staring at my reflection, wondering what the fuck I've done with my life, I come back to this weekly broadcast and remind myself that I am doing something. And I'm doing it for you.

Thanks. 💚

Fyreside Newsletter - 12/15/25 Hey Reader, First, a brief programming note: I'm taking next week off! Between travel and holiday prep, I don't plan on spending much time at my desk next week. You'll get one more newsletter from me this year on the 29th. Sorry if that ruins your holidays. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Please don't make me hurt your feelings. I don't like to be mean to people. I learned at a young age that the way I perceive social situations makes it easy for me to be mean accidentally. I also...

Fyreside Newsletter - 12/8/25 Hey Reader, Today I want to share an example with you. In the second week of the last month of the year, I don't think there's much worth to advertising advice. Why? Because there is no single period of time more ridden with consumerism and advertisement than this. Don't add your slop to the pile, no one will care. Instead, let's all take a minute to look at something good. Best Subs in America I grew up in Western Pennsylvania. In a small town adjacent to mine...

Fyreside Newsletter - 12/1/25 Hey Reader, Look, I'm not one for rampant consumerism, but Black Friday used to be an Event. That's right, a capital E, bold font Event. I remember friends and family clamoring into cars at ungodly hours to attempt to secure a flat-screen TV for less than $50. I remember doorbuster deals so insane that you'd feel guilty if you stayed home. So wtf's up with all this "GeT 20% oFf ThIs BlAcK fRiDaY!" nonsense?? (unrelated: there's an absolutely massive announcement...
