Hey Reader,Zoom out with me for a second, what the hell are we supposed to be doing right now? Seriously, the seven days between 12/25 and 1/2 feel like the most lawless days of the year. To me, week 52 of every year is akin to an airport terminal. There are barely any rules and the only expectation is that you get out of it. Want a beer at 6 am? You go for it. Want to go unjudged for napping in public? Hell yeah, get after it. Are you crying? That's ok, most of us are. So what should we make of this week? I have two suggestions:
Here's the thing, we always set the highest expectations in January. Whether for the sake of Resolutions, or just because we're gassed up with Holiday Trauma, it seems January always brings lofty goals and big dreams. And that's great! But it's also really hard to sustain. In fact, this 2023 survey found the average New Year's Resolution is abandoned in less than four months. Now I love a New Year's Resolution. I'm a goal-oriented person and a clearly defined metric just really gets me hot and bothered. I also have an average millennial attention span and a brain that is riddled with ADHD. To combat those facts, I often use this last week of the year to do some pre-resolution-ing in hopes of dragging my resolutions past April 1st. "That's nice Matt, but why should I care?" I hear you asking, and what a reasonable question. WELL, if I am to believe the conversations I've had with clients this month, I'd bet one of your resolutions is "post more" or maybe "get more out of my social media presence." Both valiant and worthwhile goals, but also both incredibly susceptible to the roadblocks noted above. Luckily for you, I have the same goals and have already created a solution. In a previous newsletter, I mentioned that I was planning a content sprint for this week. This has been my method for social media upkeep for years, but I've never put it on paper, until now. The goal of a content sprint is to fill up your drafts. If you've never heard that term, your "drafts" are social posts you have saved for later. See the real secret to long-term, consistent social posting is pre-producing content. See creating social media content and posting social media content are two completely different actions; they actually require different halves of the brain. Creating social content, filming videos, making graphics, writing copy, that's all "right-brain" stuff. Actually getting that content posted, considering analytics and strategy, double checking settings, that's your "left-brain." The most sustainable thing you can do for your social strategy is to separate those two processes. If you're creating social content and turning around to immediately post it, you're on a one-way train to BurnOutVille. Do this instead! That's why I do these content sprints! My goal for each sprint is to fill my drafts with just over two weeks worth of posts in one week of production. For the first time ever, I've taken my content sprint process and put it on paper for you to have and use fo' free! As per usual, you can download the Content Sprint Guide from the Free Stuff section of the website. You can also get it at this link. If you use this guide, I'd love to hear about how it works for you! Feel free to reply to this email or message me anytime at matt@bahnfyrepr.com. And that's it! This newsletter already has too many words. Here are some bullet points if you want more.

Fyreside Newsletter - 1/20/25 Hey Reader, First off, happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! I'm talking about the TikTok ban, because everybody's talking about the TikTok ban. That's just like, what we're doing today? I've said in other videos that I don't think the TikTok ban will go through. I...
Fyreside Newsletter - 1/6/25 Hey Reader, Do you remember seven days ago? Seven days ago was the 30th of December for those of you who don't have your calendar app on speed dial. There's a huge difference between December 30th and January 6th: expectation. (No, this isn't a joke about historical events that happened on January 6th, but I see you.) New Year, New Expectations The first five days of 2025 came with an excuse. You drop a national holiday on a Wednesday and you've effectively...
